Style of classes offered at Inner Sun

Picture
Yin (beginner friendly) Target the connective tissue of the hips, pelvis and lower spine to increase flexibility and health of the joints, as well as harmonize the body's energy system. Long-held Yin poses practiced with an attitude of compassion are the perfect complement to your regular yoga practice or fitness program.

Restorative Flow (beginner friendly)

Restore and rejuvenate with gentle slow flow and supported postures. Use of blocks, straps, bolsters and/or the wall as props will help support your practice.

Hatha (beginner friendly)
Explore breath, alignment, relaxation, and meditation in this slow-paced class. These practices will cultivate a balanced state of mind and body to assist you in freeing the more subtle spiritual elements of your Self to help you reach your full potential.

Dharma Mittra Hatha Flow (all levels) In Dharma Mittra''s yoga tradition you will practice important breathing exercises, which are key to restoring vitality to bring power to your lungs, diaphragm and abdomen. Methods will be given to properly master postures to gain more flexibility, balance and strength to create a balanced functioning of the inner workings of the body and mind. All sessions will end with a guided deep relaxation to recharge and renew.

Vinyasa (all levels)  Flow from pose to pose with deep, rhythmic breathing. You will build heat to open up your body and release toxins. Long-held postures will be incorporated into the mix for endurance, strength, balance and flexibility.

Warrior Spirit Flow (most challenging and warm) Be a Warrior in Inner Sun Yoga''s most physical class as you Illuminate your body, mind and spirit! You will flow through postures with absolute awareness to build strength, stamina, flexibility and focus. Come ready to sweat and try new sequences and postures that will take you to your edge. Some experience in flow yoga is recommended.

Temperature We keep the our classroom comfortably warm 78-82 to help you open up in the postures.  You are encouraged to use your breath and body to generate additional heat.

About Our Classes

Picture
The classes at Inner Sun allow you to experience the healing power of yoga through breath, slow movement, postures, relaxation and meditation.

When the body and breath are unified and inspired by spiritual intention you can then connect to your "inner sun" or spiritual heart and create a more focused and calm state of awareness and peace.

Are you new to yoga?  As a new student, we recommend that you begin with the classes that are "beginner friendly" until you are more familiar with the flow series.  Our yoga personal training sessions or an introductory workshop are other great options.  Please call us at 920.651.1279 if you are unsure of where to begin.

Classes vary in pace, intensity and heat.  In all classes you are encouraged to abandon the competitive mindset, to simply listen to your body and adjust to your needs.  On some days you may feel the need to take it slower and rest more during your practice. On others, you may feel the desire to work with more intensity.

With a regular yoga practice you will gain flexibility, strength, balance and so much more.

Studio Guidelines

Picture
The practice of yoga begins before your class starts.  To create the best experience for yourself and others, we ask that you follow these guidelines:
  • Sound carries in our building so please keep voices low in the hallway and when entering the studio.
  • Arrive approximately 10 minutes before class to prepare.
  • Turn off cell phones prior to class.
  • Refrain from wearing perfumes and lotions.  Fellow students may have sensitivity.
  • Enter the yoga room and roll out your mat quietly.
  • Observe silence in the yoga room.  Our lounge area is available for you to enjoy tea and social time.
  • Do not eat heavy at least 2 hours before practicing.
  • Wear non-restrictive clothing.
  • Plan on being barefoot.
  • Be ready to practice in a warmer environment.
  • Plan on staying for the entire class.  If you must leave early, end with savasana and exit quietly.
