After taking some time away for work travel and obligations, it feels refreshing to be able to come back to my teachings and share them on this blog!
This week we celebrated the moon in Lakshmi which is a wonderful reminder that spring is a fresh start to the road to abundance. Lakshmi represents the wealth, prosperity and abundance in ourselves and in our lives. Through her, we can see the beauty of the blossoming flowers and growth of nature that surrounds us everyday during this time of year.
She embodies the colors of the lower chakras and connects us to our root (red). Like the seeds that are starting to grow, we must find our roots in order to grow on our path to wealth and prosperity. These items, thoughts or feelings that we carry in our heart aren't able to grow if our roots aren't based in abundance. The question becomes, how do we find or create more abundance in our daily lives?
Abundance comes when we work towards living a life filled with gratitude. Once we're grateful for what we've been given from the divine, we can truly be blessed and happy with our lives. These things are simple. You're filled with life, love, nature, beauty souls to connect to and countless other reasons to be grateful. Lately, our society has been rooted in obstacles and negative stories so we must work to shift our root space to be more spacious, loving and thankful for what the divine has provided us so far.
So how do we start living in gratitude? The best way to step into this practice is write down three things each day that you're grateful for. It works best to create these lists in the morning and also set the intention of "I am." The "I am" can be followed by: living in this moment, not ruled by stress or fear, etc. By starting your day off in gratitude, you can move forward with your do lists, projects, and work with a sense of purpose and devotion. This practice also boosts happiness which the world needs more of!
After you get into the swing of writing down your three things you're grateful for, you can expand this practice to others by thanking someone for being in your life. You can write them a letter or give them a call to tell them you appreciate them. It's amazing the response you will get it!
The world is filled with abundance, love, wealth, prosperity and gratitude. We've been rooted to see the negative through social media, tv and more that we forget that this eternal love and happiness is right inside of us. My hope is you start your gratitude practice today and connect to your inner Lakshmi (abundance, wealth and prosperity).
